Seminar Series | Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Value organised by SKEMA Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI)
AI diffusion and disruption
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2024 — FROM 12:00 TO 1:30PM (CET)
— Keynote speaker: Professor Christopher Tucci, Professor of Digital Strategy and Innovation – Imperial College
In this talk, we will explore the role of play and exploration in the diffusion of generative AI, thinking about the different ways “play” can be conceptualized. Play helps users explore and experiment in a ludic manner and builds the installed based of generative AI applications quite quickly, sometimes based on different types of network effects. Experimentation and exploration leading to adoption then have the potential to introduce new products, services, processes, and business models, which may have negative consequences for organizations that have not adopted or experimented with the technology. Additional threats, however, may also appear from overly aggressive automation from AI, and we conclude with a discussion on governance of AI decision making.
